rewind ai pricing: what rewind and limitless cost, and what replaces them
rewind ai pricing settled in september 2023 on one paid plan, soon named rewind pro, at $29 a month, or $19 a month billed yearly, per user, beside a limited free tier. that price held until capture ended on december 19, 2025. limitless, the same company under a new name, by november 2025 charged $99 for its pendant and up to $29 a month billed yearly for its plans.
every price below is historical and dated to an archived vendor page. as of october 2026, the realistic replacements cost $0 to $25 a month ($21 if billed yearly), plus new hardware if you take the windows route.
how much was rewind ai?
rewind charged between $8 and $36 a month in 2023 before settling on a single plan at $29. the table shows each version of the pricing page that the wayback machine captured, so the rewind ai pro price depends on the month you signed up.

the snapshots behind each row: march 2023, april 2023, september 2023 and december 3, 2025. from september 2023 prices were per user, and the page billed the yearly option as a 34% saving over monthly.
when did rewind's prices change?
rewind changed its pricing twice in 2023 and then left it alone for over two years. the changes, in order:
- between march and april 2023, monthly billing rose from $10 to $12 for basic and from $30 to $36 for pro. the yearly rates rose from $8 to $10 and from $24 to $30 a month.
- between august and september 2023, the two tiers and their session limits gave way to one plan, rewind unlimited, at $29 a month or $19 billed yearly, with a 30 day free trial.
- by november 2023, the same plan had been renamed rewind pro. every snapshot we checked after that, through december 3, 2025, shows the same $19 and $29.
- in 2025, the limitless pricing page said limitless pro and unlimited subscriptions included rewind pro.
- on december 19, 2025, an update disabled all screen and audio capture, so there was nothing left to pay for.
what did the rewind free tier include?
rewind free kept recording and kept your history, but it rationed search and ai. the exact limits depended on the year.
until september 2023 the free tier included 50 rewinds in total. a rewind was one session: open the app, go back in time or search as much as you like, and it counted once. basic added 10 rewinds a month, and pro had no cap.
from september 2023 the free plan promised to "access your data forever." on the november 2023 page, free search showed only the top three results, and ai answers and meeting summaries stopped after the first few sentences. both tiers stored recordings locally, and both covered the mac and iphone apps.
what did limitless charge for the pendant and plans?
limitless pricing split into hardware and transcription hours, and the numbers moved several times in 20 months.
the pendant first. the limitless pricing faq said the earliest preorder price was $59, then $99, and that it rose to $199 once it shipped. by november 2025 the page showed $99 again, against a $199 list price.
at the april 2024 launch, techcrunch reported that the app was free with 10 hours of ai features a month, and that unlimited ai features cost $29 a month or $19 a month paid annually. those were rewind pro's numbers exactly.
by november 2025 the limitless pricing page had three plans and a bundle:
- free: 20 hours a month, $0.
- pro: 100 hours a month, $19 a month billed yearly.
- unlimited: no hour cap, $29 a month billed yearly ($348 a year), or $49 billed monthly.
- bundle: pendant plus unlimited, $299 for the first year, then $348 a year.
hours counted only active speech, and limitless said it cut the unlimited yearly plan by $10 a month in march 2025. then the meta acquisition on december 5, 2025 ended limitless pricing altogether. the limitless faq says the pendant is no longer sold, and existing customers get the unlimited plan free while support runs through 2026.
is the rewind.ai pricing page still real?
no, because as of october 2026 the rewind.ai domain belongs to a different product. its pricing page now sells an ai tools service in tokens, with basic at $5, pro at $19 and business at $49 a month.
none of that is the rewind mac app.
by february 2026 the domain redirected to a parking service, and the october 2026 snapshot shows the new site. the coincidence to watch: rewind pro's yearly price and the new site's pro plan are both $19 a month. if a search result quotes "rewind pro, $19", check the date before you trust it. the full story is in what happened to rewind ai.
what do rewind replacements cost as of october 2026?
the main mac replacements cost nothing to start, and the windows route costs a new pc. we checked each vendor page on october 21, 2026.
| option | platform | free option | paid price |
|---|---|---|---|
| screenpipe | macos, windows, linux | free plan | basic $25 a month or $250 a year; business $50 per seat a month or $500 a year |
| microsoft recall | windows 11 pcs with a 40 tops npu | built into windows on qualifying pcs | the hardware: copilot+ pcs listed from $949.99 |
| remynd | apple silicon macs, macos 14 or later | free to download | plans on the remynd pricing page |
| limitless | pendant, web, desktop | existing owners only | not sold to new customers since december 5, 2025 |
screenpipe. the pricing page offers a free plan for recent history and charges $25 a month, or $250 a year, for full personal history. it estimates storage at about 30 gb a month. our screenpipe vs rewind post covers the rest.
microsoft recall. recall became generally available on copilot+ pcs on april 25, 2025, per microsoft learn. it needs a copilot+ pc or windows 11 ai+ pc with a 40 tops npu, 16 gb of ram and 256 gb of storage (microsoft support), and microsoft's copilot+ pc page lists a 12 inch surface pro from $949.99. more in rewind ai vs microsoft recall.
which is the best value for a former rewind user?
in our judgement, the best value depends on which part of rewind you were paying for.
if you paid $19 a month to search your own mac screen, start with a free mac option and pay only when you hit a limit. the rewind ai alternatives page compares them side by side.
if you would switch to windows anyway, recall costs nothing on top of a copilot+ pc. buying a $949.99 pc just to get recall is a poor trade, though.
if you paid limitless for pendant transcription, a mac app will not replace that. our limitless vs rewind breakdown explains why the two products diverged.
where remynd fits
remynd is free to download for apple silicon macs on macos 14 or later, and its plans live on the pricing page rather than in this post. it reads screen text on your mac from the window you are working in, using apple vision, and keeps recordings and the searchable index on your mac. you choose apps and sites it never records, and call audio is transcribed on your mac with an mlx model.
cloud sync is optional: recordings are encrypted on your mac before upload, to remynd storage on a paid plan or to your own s3 bucket.
price matters less than custody. rewind users paid for a local archive and still saw capture end with 14 days of notice. keep the archive of what you saw on your own mac, so a vendor shutting down cannot take it with them.
download remynd for mac and see whether it covers what rewind did for you.
