openclaw is the open source agent that blew up over the past year. mit licensed, runs on your own machine, keeps its memory as plain markdown files you can read, grep and diff. you drive it from messaging apps you already use and it goes and does things. shell commands, browser automation, email, calendar, files. it'll run against claude, gpt, or a local model through ollama.

but it's not a screen recorder, and that matters here. it remembers what you told it and what it did. it does not remember the pricing table you looked at in a tab last month, because it never saw your screen. if your rewind use case was "find that thing i saw", openclaw doesn't cover it. it's a good tool solving a different problem.
